Climbing 800m up Mount Vesuvius’s 1281m was the clear highlight, offering incredible views and a first-hand look at volcanic activity. At Solfatara, students saw bubbling mud pools and steaming fumaroles, bringing geography lessons to life.

A school cricket tour is an exciting opportunity to combine sports training with cultural exploration. This unique trip to India involved students participating in cricket training and matches while immersing themselves in the rich history and heritage of some of India’s major cities.

The direct, 8-hour flight to St Lucia flew by (pun intended) and we were soon touching down in the Caribbean. Outside the airport we were greeted by our man on the ground, Roland, resplendent in Manchester United shirt and ready with buses to ferry the group and luggage to Rodney Bay.  

Squeezing seven cricket matches into their 11- day trip to Cape Town, the Oxford school got to pit themselves against several South African teams with scenery that you could only dream of.

Sir Roger Manwood’s School recently embarked on a life-changing, 13-day multi-sports tour to Sri Lanka for male and female students playing cricket, hockey and netball.  Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world with each student offered a chance to put their skills to the test in very unique conditions against local opposition in the most wonderful settings.
