Rugby tours to the UK

Visiting Wales and England for a rugby tour offers international rugby teams a unique opportunity to experience the sport at its best.

Cardiff is renowned for its passionate rugby culture and is home to the iconic Principality Stadium. Visiting such a venue provides an inspiring atmosphere that can deeply motivate players. Additionally, Cardiff's vibrant city life, with its rich history, excellent restaurants, and lively pubs, ensures that the team can enjoy off-field activities, making the trip both educational and enjoyable.

London offers an array of world-class facilities and historic rugby clubs that are perfect for training and matches. Teams can visit Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium, the home of English rugby, to witness the grandeur of the sport's biggest stages. Engaging with local teams through friendly matches can provide invaluable experience, allowing international teams to test their skills against some of the best talent and learn from different playing styles and coaching techniques. The depth of rugby knowledge and tradition in England provides an enriching environment that can significantly enhance the players' development and understanding of the game.

The geographical proximity of the two cities makes logistics relatively straightforward, enabling teams to maximize their time spent on the tour. Cultural immersion extends beyond the sport itself, as players can explore historical landmarks and experience the unique local traditions that differ significantly from those in the international. This blend of high-level rugby exposure and cultural education makes a tour to Wales and England a comprehensive and transformative experience for touring rugby teams, fostering both athletic and personal growth.

When to visit the UK? Rugby tours to the UK are best between September and May.

Rugby tours to the USA

Take your team on a rugby tour to America to experience arguably our most exciting set of itineraries for touring sports groups.

From Florida’s Space Coast to California’s Pacific Coast Highway, everything in between across its 48 contiguous states offers something truly unique. From big city New York to Yosemite National Park, the most iconic sights and highlights of this welcoming country can feature in your tour itinerary.

The US offers many touring options thanks to airlines’ coverage of major airport hubs. As a British Airways Preferred Partner, our tours allow groups to arrive and exit from different cities across the airline’s network, bringing multiple cities together in one travel schedule.

With no shortage of hotel options, excursions and landmarks to tick off, no matter where you go an enthusiastic welcome is guaranteed both on and off the playing field.

This sporting powerhouse is consistently laying down a marker on the rugby 7s circuit by winning World Rugby events and becoming a regular in the knockout stages. Whilst the 15-a-side game is a slower burner, the combination of an inaugural professional league in 2016, RWC2031 hosting and a frighteningly developing talent pool (often from NFL and college athletics overspill) suggests that it’s only a matter of time before we see the USA become a challenger to the top 10 rugby-playing nations.

Taking your team on one of our rugby tours to the USA guarantees one thing and that’s enthusiasm from your opposition and appreciation for visiting their club or school. Expect to be well received both on and off the pitch as part of an itinerary that fuses sightseeing of iconic cities to incredible destinations and opportunities.

As a recognised USA specialist, our tours cover over 32 states and pair many together on twin/tri-city experiences. From New York to Washington and Nashville to New Orleans, we’re here to tailor a tour to meet your exact travel needs and budget.

We recommend:
Easter: New York, Washington, Boston, Nashville, Austin/Dallas/San Antonio (Texas)
May: All 32 states
Summer: Illinois, Washington State, east coast
October: Florida, Georgia, North/South Carolina and east coast

Rugby tours to Canada

Take your team on a rugby tour to Canada for the ultimate all-round travel experience.

More affordable than the USA and with some of the highest living standards in the world, Canada provides a safe but thrilling adventure for all ages thanks in part to excellent flight links from several UK airports.

With so much to see and do, it’s remiss to limit your time in-country to less than ten days. Competitively priced hotels, affordable attractions and a generous spring and summer climate all combine to enhance the country’s reputation as THE go-to long haul tour for clubs, schools and universities.

Known for its beautiful scenery and bustling cities, Canada is one of the most welcoming and diverse countries in the world. Home to nearly 40 million people and ten provinces, this multicultural environment embraces tourists across its breadth of cities from Halifax in Nova Scotia through to British Columbia’s Vancouver Island.

Our rugby tours to Canada are long regarded as the staple of every team’s destination of choice. They tick every box of rugby culture, and the country should be visited by all players at least once during their playing lifetime.

When to visit Canada? There’s never a shortage of sides to compete against during the traditional touring months. Spring and summer rugby tours to Canada suit the eastern regions of Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Niagara Falls, plus Alberta’s Calgary and Edmonton. Easter and October tours are best taken in British Columbia, incorporating Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler.

Touring
Options

Toronto and Niagara Falls

Our most popular tours incorporate Ontario’s Toronto and Niagara Falls, just a 7-hour flight from London.  Experience the iconic CN Tower, traverse Toronto’s many waterfront attractions, catch a Blue Jays ‘ball game at the Skydome and finish up with seeing one of the wonders of the world on a boat trip to Niagara Falls.

Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec

With a little extra time and budget, tag on the capital – Ottawa – and French-speaking Montreal in the Quebec province to extend your experience in the eastern regions.  A favourite activity for our regular touring teams incorporates an overnight stay at a wilderness lodge inclusive of white-water rafting and river-side BBQ dinners.

Alberta

For the Rocky Mountain experience, consider exploring Alberta.  Cities such as Edmonton and Calgary flank the majestic mountain range with the ski resort of Banff enticing groups in the warmer months.  Raft the Kananaskis River, soak in the thermal pools and appreciate the beauty via gondola to the town’s highest peak.

Vancouver and Victoria

A little further via air sits Vancouver and Victoria – the capital of British Columbia – located on Vancouver Island.  Its coastal location offers whale watching opportunities, Grouse Mountain’s views of the Pacific and the unique Capilano Suspension Bridge.  Extend your tour with stays in Whistler Village or with a USA side trip to Seattle.

Rugby tours to Portugal

From the beaches of Lisbon’s Estoril and Cascais resorts, to the classic city of Porto, a rugby tour to Portugal should be experienced by all budding rugby players.

Lisbon is a vibrant city known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and lively cultural scene. Located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it boasts a unique charm with its narrow cobblestone streets, pastel-coloured buildings, and iconic trams that traverse its steep hills.

The city's landmarks include the Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Lisbon's diverse neighbourhoods, such as the historic Alfama district and the trendy Bairro Alto, offer a mix of traditional fado music, modern art, and delicious cuisine, making it a must-see destination for travellers.

Despite being a second tier World Rugby nation, Portugal has a consistent habit of creating extremely competitive youth teams, thanks in part to the 31 clubs formed within the greater Lisbon area and their progressive facilities.

The Lisbon Rugby Club and CDUL (Centro Desportivo Universitário de Lisboa) are two of the prominent rugby teams that contribute to the sport's development in the region. These clubs participate in the Campeonato Português de Rugby, Portugal's premier rugby competition, and have dedicated fan bases.

The capital also hosts international rugby events, including the Portugal Youth Rugby Festival held annually during the Easter break for junior and youth teams.

Whilst Lisbon is perfectly endowed to entertain across a long weekend, an expanded itinerary should consider Porto in the country’s north where most airline carriers operate from the UK.

When to visit? Portugal can be visited all year round with pleasant winter months that are mild and often sunny and warm. The spring/summer/autumn months are perfect weather for touring rugby teams, although games are not possible in July and August.

Rugby Tours to Japan

Our rugby tours to Japan offer a high standard of play across all four islands amid a unique cultural experience for your team.

Japan’s national team, the Brave Blossoms, won hearts all over the world with hard fought victories against tier one nations at Rugby World Cup 2015 and 2019 – the latter as tournament hosts. This consistency has inspired a new generation of school-age players who are dedicated to developing their skills alongside the more traditional games such as baseball and football.

Our tours to Japan incorporate all the major touristic spots as well as unique towns that meet our mantra of experiencing the real insight into a foreign land: Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kobe, Kyoto, Toyama, Nagano, Yokohama, Hakuba and Tokyo.

We recommend commencing your trip on the southern island of Kyushu to experience the hot springs and mountainous scenery before continuing east via bullet train to Tokyo. All major travel inside Japan is taken via train (‘Shinkansen’), epitomising Japanese efficiency and sustainability in the comfort of reclining chairs.

When to visit Japan? With a season that mirrors those in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s possible to consider a rugby tour to Japan for your Easter, Whitsun or Summer sports tours. Japanese high schools specialising in rugby take an annual camp during the first week of August that times well with year-end tours departing from the UK. Rugby Tours to New Zealand

Our rugby tours to New Zealand are arguably the most challenging for any budding rugby tourist.

From a young age, players are nurtured and developed into budding All Blacks, with every child’s dream being one of donning the jersey. This country offers some of the fiercest competition from across the globe; with local teams giving nothing less than their best A-game; yet with the traditional Maori warmth off it during post-match celebrations.

The hardest part is deciding what to leave out over the two contrasting Islands. The rugged south offers Christchurch, Dunedin and adrenaline-fuelled Queenstown whilst the geothermal north and balmier climate lists Wellington, Napier, Taupo, Rotorua and Auckland as its staples.

Our advice: cover both Islands by bus and make sure you add in a few nights’ billeting to sample the incredible hospitality afforded by the locals.

We recommend exploring Fiji as part of your tour (3h flight from Auckland) or considering a side trip to Sydney, Australia should time and budgets allow.

Rugby Tours to Australia

Our rugby tours to Australia are simply unforgettable. From white beaches to tropical rainforests, it’s always summer down under on a programme that mixes sports with sights and sounds that will live with you forever.

Being one of – if not the most – popular longhaul tours taken by schools and groups, we tailor each itinerary to explore as much of this fabulous country in adherence to your travel budget.

It’s surprising for the Wallabies’ opponents to hear that rugby union is Australia’s fourth main sport, which pays homage to the nation’s love of all things active. Their consistent displays are, in part, due to excellent weather and ideal training conditions across the country, which is why you should be considering a rugby tour to Australia.

Never has there been more flight options into Australia or such rich stopover options to break up this 24h journey down under. The next challenge is narrowing down the itinerary stops out of so many desirable locations. The warmth and beaches of Cairns lure many in whilst the traditionalists favour the Melbourne-Sydney-Brisbane route that ‘follows the sun’.

Wherever you end up there’s a sure-fire guarantee that games will be competitive, the camaraderie incessant and the celebrations lengthy and memorable. We recommend exploring Fiji as part of your tour (3h flight from Sydney) or considering a side trip to Auckland, New Zealand should time and budgets allow.
