A school cricket tour is an exciting opportunity to combine sports training with cultural exploration. This unique trip to India involved students participating in cricket training and matches while immersing themselves in the rich history and heritage of some of India’s major cities. The tour included cricket activities in Bengaluru, as well as cultural excursions in Delhi and Agra.

The students began their journey in Bengaluru with a tour of Chinnaswamy Stadium, home to the world-famous IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They played several fixtures in both T20 and 40-over formats against local teams, putting their skills to the test.  

Next, they flew to India’s bustling capital, Delhi, where their abilities were challenged by talented youth teams. On a day off from matches, the school group boarded rickshaws to explore Delhi’s most treasured sites. They learned about the culture and history of Jama Masjid, Delhi’s principal mosque, and Bangla Sahib, a prominent Sikh temple, before soaking in the vibrant smells and colours of a spice market.  

The tour concluded with a day trip to the Taj Mahal. This iconic monument, which has stood in Agra for over 400 years and rises 73 meters tall provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the students.
