Girls' Hockey and Netball Tour

After arriving in Cape Town, the group explored the Cape Peninsula and visited Table Mountain before beginning their sporting fixtures. Their first match was a netball game against a local South African school, played in great spirit. The following days included a watching the Wallabies vs Lions match at a local club house and a memorable safari experience, where the students saw some o during which the students saw some of South Africa’s famous wildlife, including big cats.
The hockey team then took to the field for their second fixture before the group transferred to Johannesburg for their final matches. The tour also included visits to Soweto and the Apartheid Museum, offering valuable cultural insight, as well as a stop at the Voortrekker Monument before the journey home.
The girls returned home with unforgettable memories, stronger team bonds, and a deeper appreciation for South Africa’s people, culture, and sport.

Boys' Rugby Tour

The trip began in Johannesburg, where the group visited Soweto Township before playing their first match against a local team. They then explored the Voortrekker Monument and the Apartheid Museum before heading to Cape Town to continue their adventure.
While in Cape Town, the squad watched the Wallabies vs Lions match at a local clubhouse and enjoyed a tour of the Cape Peninsula, taking in some of South Africa’s most iconic scenery. A highlight of the trip was the visit to Aquila Private Game Reserve, where the group experienced two days of safari and had the chance to see the Big Five up close.

The tour also featured additional rugby fixtures in Cape Town, allowing the team to test their skills against strong local opposition. In between games, they enjoyed a free day to relax and an evening at GOLD Restaurant for a traditional South African dining experience.

The tour concluded with their final match before returning home to Wales.
