Wirral Grammar School’s Cricket Tour to Barbados

In February 2026, Wirral Grammar travelled to Barbados for an exciting cricket tour that blended competitive cricket with Caribbean experiences. 

Flying from Manchester, the group began their tour with a net session to adjust to the conditions and prepare for the fixtures ahead. The evening continued with a relaxed team dinner at Just Grillin’, offering the perfect introduction to Barbadian hospitality and local cuisine. 
The following days featured a packed schedule of T20 and 40-over matches against local opposition, giving players the opportunity to test their skills in new conditions and gain valuable match experience.  
Away from the pitch, the squad also enjoyed some of the island’s highlights. A catamaran cruise offered a memorable day on the Caribbean Sea, while dinner at Zaccios gave the group time to relax together. The tour concluded with a visit to Boatyard Beach and the famous Oistins Fish Fry, where students experienced the vibrant food, music, and culture that make Barbados so special.
