Llantwit Fardre RFC to Vancouver & Whistler

Llantwit Fardre RFC embarked on their tour to Vancouver & Whistler with a 10-hour direct flight from London with British Airways. Landing in Vancouver, the group of 51 would take on the west coast of Canada for their 10-day rugby tour.
Starting their tour off with an opportunity to take in some spectacular views and scenery, Llantwit kicked off their tour with a 2.5km hike of Grouse Mountain.  After spending time at the summit trying local food and drink, a 15-minute gondola ride back down helped ease their tired legs.
Fixture Day v Meraloma saw the hosts come out on top in a close but exciting fixture. A free day to sightsee and an amazing opportunity whale watching in the spectacular Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia around Vancouver followed. Seeing animals such as Orcas, Humpback whales, seals, sea lions, porpoises and bald eagles to name a few.
Moving onto Whistler saw the group pass the halfway point in their tour. Another great outdoors experience, this time the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. With a 100-meter suspension bridge, hiking trails, viewing platforms and an outdoor patio/lodge made for another memorable excursion. A sightseeing day around Whistler was followed by a rafting experience on the Wedge River concluded the tour.
