Ebbw Fawr School head to Dubai in March 2026 for a multi-sports tour bringing together their girls’ netball squads and boys’ football teams for a week of competition, training and adventure in one of the world’s most dynamic destinations.  
The tour has been carefully designed to minimise travel time, flying locally from Cardiff via Amsterdam to Dubai to make the journey as smooth as possible. Excitement is already building ahead of a trip that promises development on the court and pitch as well as experiences far beyond them. 
The first day in Dubai gives both groups the chance to acclimatise to the heat and facilities. Training sessions and training matches at local venues will allow the squads to adjust to the conditions and begin preparing for their fixtures. After a focused morning of competitive work, the players will return to the hotel to use the pool for recovery and relaxation.  
The following two days are dedicated to competition and discovery, offering both squads the chance to test themselves against local opposition. Fixtures for football and netball are scheduled across Dubai, exposing the players to different styles of play and new environments. Between matchdays, the group will have the opportunity to visit Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in the world, and travel to the top of the Burj Khalifa. Standing at the world’s tallest building will offer students a dramatic viewpoint of the city. 
Day four takes the tour deep into the desert for a thrilling safari experience. The group will travel by 4×4 across the dunes, stopping to watch the sunset before arriving at a desert camp. Students will have the chance to try sandboarding and take part in cultural activities such as henna designs. As night falls, the group will enjoy a barbecue dinner and traditional entertainment, including Tanura and fire shows under the stars, a moment that promises to be unlike anything they have experienced before. 
The penultimate day features Wild Wadi Waterpark. With rides, pools and activities, the waterpark day gives the students valuable downtime during a busy sporting tour while strengthening the bonds already created through matches and training. 
On their final day in Dubai, both squads will take to the field one last time for a closing round of fixtures. Before heading home, there will be time to visit an outlet mall for some last-minute shopping and souvenirs. The overnight flight to Cardiff will bring the group home tired, happy, and full of memories.
