Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby South America Rugby Tour

In July 2024, Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby embarked on a 15-day rugby tour to South America, travelling across three countries: Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil. 
The tour began in Montevideo, Uruguay, spending two nights settling into South American life. Highlights included a visit to the Andes Museum and the opportunity to watch the Uruguayan national rugby team train, following their own training session at the same facilities. The squad played their first fixture against a Colegio Seminario XV, enjoying warm hospitality with their hosts after the match. 
From Uruguay, the tour continued into Argentina, travelling to Pergamino in the Buenos Aires province. Here, the players experienced two nights of billeting with local families, offering a genuine insight into Argentine culture and hospitality. During their stay, the squad played their second fixture and visited a traditional Gaucho farm, learning about ranch life and rural traditions. 
The group continued to Buenos Aires, where rugby featured alongside sightseeing. A city tour and a visit to the iconic Boca Juniors stadium were followed by a Delta Tigre excursion, allowing the students to explore the Paraná River Delta. The third fixture of the tour rounded off their rugby programme in Argentina before the journey continued north. 
The final leg saw the group take an internal flight to Iguazu, Brazil, where the tour concluded with the famed Gran Aventura experience and a guided visit to the breathtaking Iguazu Falls. 
Combining rugby, culture, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the South America tour provided the students with memories that will last a lifetime.
