Cheltenham’s Cleeve School recently enjoyed a four-day girls’ football tour to Italy.
The tour kicked off at Veronello Resort – the team’s base camp – a 90-minute session led by coaches from AC Milan. Using the on-site pitches, which provided the tourists with a handy daily warm up base, the girls benefited from Italian coaching tips and methods to prepare them for games against local opposition.
Post session, Cleeve headed into Verona to explore landmarks such as Castelvecchio Bridge, the Verona Arena, and Juliet’s Balcony. They rounded off the day in style with a strong win against ASD Oratorio Rodeondesco.
The rest of the tour included self-led training sessions and a relaxed visit to Lazise and the shores of Lake Garda to enjoy local Italian cuisine and culture, followed by another on-pitch victory. The tour wrapped up with a memorable visit to the famed San Siro Stadium.
The group was joined by MSG’s Lauren, Ben, and Jess, who helped ensure everyone had the best possible experience in Italy while also developing their own knowledge and skills related to our most popular destinations.
