Croydon High School to South Africa
The Girls’ Day School Trust’s Croydon High School’s netball and hockey teams recently travelled with us to South Africa for a 13-day adventure.
The team experienced coaching sessions in Pretoria, multiple fixtures, township tours, a two-day safari and dined at the famed Spyced restaurant in Cape Town.
Playing games in both Gauteng and the Western Cape regions, both sides took on school opposition and coaching clinics in Stellenbosch, Constantia and Pretoria across a schedule designed in partnership with school staff.
Croydon also took time out to visit The Little Rose Centre charity in Soweto, climbed Lion’s Head in Cape Town whilst exploring the width of the latter city’s Waterfront area.
“The girls had an absolutely fantastic time, navigating some weather challenges and busy travel schedule across the two week tour,” commented tour leader, Sue Beck.
“This was my sixth tour to South Africa, a country that is very suited to girls’ team touring.”
