Mallorca’s beach resort of Paguera will once again welcome the East Midlands’ Derby Triathlon Club for its annual Challenge Paguera 70.3 half iron-distance triathlon event.
After a successful tour in 2015, DTC have strengthened their travelling squad with a number of members keen to experience a late season race in traditional warm October climes. 20 members will attend this year’s trip, led by MSG owner/director, Mark Gardner, who is also racing as part of a relay team.
Paul Cunningham captains this year’s team and is clearly thrilled to be heading out to Spain. “The resort itself is absolutely perfect for a triathlon event with a sea swim out of the main beach and run course around the town’s main shopping and restaurant precinct. Add in a cracking bike course on rolling hills to underline how perfect the island of Mallorca is for the sport of triathlon”.
With so many elements to consider as part of a triathlete’s race preparation we pride ourselves in taking the travel pressures away from our clients. “The trip and all of your organisational skills were great”, commented Kathy Carmichael from Derby’s 2015 tour squad. “Doing two legs (of the relay) for the first time was very special and you made that happen for me. Also, socially, I loved it!”
Derby Triathlon Club have opened the door for fellow triathletes around the country to join them as part of a wider squad. Prices start at £399 for supporters and range through to £597 for triathletes including flights, 3 days’ carbon bike hire, transfers, 3 x nights’ all-inclusive hotel and race entry. Enquire via email to info@msg.koobrdev.co.uk for further details on how to join Derby at Challenge Paguera 70.3 during 13-16 October 2016.
