The Big 5 reasons to travel with MSG Tours
Booking an overseas trip without an operator can be risky business – even more so with what has been going on in the world recently. You can get a whole lot more with MSG: remove the risk and enjoy a financially secure, worry-free experience which will stay with you forever.
Lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. South Africa’s very own Big 5. But we’ve got Big 5 reasons of our own to travel with MSG Tours to South Africa
Protection and flexibility
MSG Tours is an ATOL protected company and a member of ABTA. In these ‘unprecedented times’, it is vital your travel and your money is secure. If you go it alone and DIY your tour, you have almost zero flexibility and could lose money whilst also placing the administration with yourself. Even after booking, if you want to alter or change something, we can offer that. A refund would be offered if the tour dates cannot move following advice from the FCO on non-essential travel to South Africa during the contracted travel period.

Affordability
Our most economical and inclusive tour at just £3966.43pp is The Giraffe. It is built around the last traditional warm-up match vs the Bulls in Pretoria and the opening Test vs the Springboks in Johannesburg (with a few days’ stay in Cape Town in between).
Our Three-Test tours start at £5,386.63pp which are some of the most affordable out there! (Based on analysis of official packages for the 2017 Lions tour to New Zealand versus non-ticket inclusive tours, our tours are expected to be 35-40% less than Official Sub-Agents). Lions Rugby Travel come in at £6,795pp for their cheapest available fully escorted tour, meaning you’ll be paying over £1,400 extra for the guarantee of tickets with no excursions*.
With great value for money, our tours are jam-packed with amazing excursions and memorable experiences.
We have payment plans, too! Instead of having to part with every penny in one go, you can spread out the cost of our tour from now until May 2021 with flexible payment options including debit and credit cards to build up those all important air-miles.

Travel stress-free and safely
There will be a Tour Manager to every group of 20 people who you will be very much a part of your tour group. They will lead you on your journey around this beautiful country every step of the way and will always be on hand to help you, whether that’s finding you the best spot to eat or giving you a hand carrying a round of drinks.
Your safety is MSG’s number one priority, before COVID was around and even more so now. It would be remiss of us not to consider the health and hygiene in these ‘unprecedented times.’ Adopting the WTTC’s ‘Safe Travels’ protocols, they will all be trained in the latest COVID safety measures to keep you all safe.
Oh, and they are actually pretty cool, too! Joining in with the fun, they’ll be more than happy to share a drink with you. Many of our clients have formed tight bonds with our managers on our tours and have become friends for life!
Our Supporters love MSG
90% of our tourists from New Zealand 2017 have already booked on for South Africa 2021. These are now granted the title of our ‘Loyal Lions’ and will shout loudly and proudly about all things MSG. Many of their friends and family who they have recommended us to have also booked on for the tour. These join the other Supporters who have been on any of our other tours as our exclusive ‘Follow the Herd’ group.
We’ve had amazing feedback from all of our tourists justified with a Net Promoter Score of 80, which is extremely impressive for travel (For context, AirBnB scored 44 and TUI scored 45)
The MSG Way
Every day is game day on tour with MSG. The rugby is important – we know that! But it makes up just 3 days of the tour. We want our Supporters to be waking up every day with the same buzz they get before the big match. It’s only the best places and best excursions for our tourists!
That is why we’ve put in a large amount of detailed work into ensuring this tour is the biggest and best yet. Leaving no stone unturned, we have embarked on THREE INTENSE INSPECTION VISITS to South Africa, planning every minute detail. This will take us to not just one, but TWO COUNTRIES as we visit neighbouring Eswatini, too.
One of our tour goals is to raise ONE MILLION RAND for South African charities, leaving a legacy by giving back to the communities which welcome us. We’d love for you to join us on our journey around the Rainbow Nation which will leave, not only you, but the people of South Africa, with memories of a lifetime.[/text_output]
