Sports Tour Overview

Wherever you find the British Army, you will find the Royal Army Medical Service (RAMS) who deploy at short notice anywhere in the world to provide medical support.

28 players from RAMS’ women’s rugby programme (formerly Army Medical Services) travelled with us on active duty to The Lone Star State of Texas for a pre-Christmas rugby tour.

Across ten days, the RAMS took on opposition in San Antonio and Austin, winning both games to preserve unbeaten status.

Across the programme, the girls participated in a coaching session with local female players in San Antonio to help pass on skills and knowledge within the community.

Integration took place with US Army Medical Command at Joint Base San Antonio, alongside the customary photo opportunity at the Alamo.
