Sports Tour Overview
Wherever you find the British Army, you will find the Royal Army Medical Service (RAMS) who deploy at short notice anywhere in the world to provide medical support.
We’re honoured that in January 2025, 22 players from RAMS’ women’s football programme (formerly Army Medical Services) travel with us on active duty on a unique football tour to South Africa.
Across ten days, the RAMS take on the South African National Defence Force in Cape Town on what we expect to be warm, summer evenings in the southern hemisphere.
Across the programme, the team will be coaching local girls’ football at Hout Bay United FC and integrating with their community project to keep children active.
Adding in the famous Table Mountain, Robben Island and Cape Peninsular tour to the ladies’ schedule is only battered by their tour conclusion at the iconic Aquila Game Reserve in the Western Cape. Is there a better venue for an end of tour dinner in the company of rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard and lion?
