Classics Study Trip to Rome and Sorrento
Caldicott School took students on a classics tour of Rome and Sorrento, allowing them to learn outside the classroom and bring their studies to life.
In Rome, the students visited iconic sites such as the Pantheon, the Colosseum and even participated in an interactive session at Gladiator School. The group also travelled to Tivoli for a tour of Hadrian’s Villa, where they experienced Roman imperial life firsthand.
In Sorrento, students explored Pompeii’s preserved ruins, gaining insight into the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. A hike to the summit of Mount Vesuvius provided breath taking views and further understanding of the volcanic activity.
Additionally, the group took a boat trip to Capri, where they enjoyed the island’s natural beauty and explored its cliffs and the famous Blue Grotto at their own pace.
The tour concluded with a visit to the Flavian Amphitheatre in Pozzuoli. This unforgettable journey brought Roman history to life and left students with lasting memories.
